Inside design star Sasha Bikoff’s $25K-a-month NYC townhouse
Interior designer Sasha Bikoff’s colorful West Village townhouse can be yours — for $25,000 a month.
The historic home was built in the 1820s in the late Federal style. The stunning residence features a restored, landmarked facade; modern interiors and two outdoor spaces, including a roof deck.
The colorful abode, located at 15 Commerce St., is 21 feet wide. At 2,394 square feet, the townhouse comes with three bedrooms, three marble baths, hardwood floors, central air and radiant heat floors.
Bikoff, who rose to prominence in the design world at a young age in the last decade with her signature taste and flair, bought the townhouse for $6 million in 2019 — down from its $6.35 million asking price. “Commerce is one of my favorite streets. It’s really special, and I love the West Village,” Bikoff told Gimme Shelter.
The seller, she said, was a South American hotelier who had done a full renovation. All Bikoff had to do was dive in and do what she does best: decorate with color and gusto.
Bikoff bought the home as an investment property. Then COVID hit. She ended up moving in and living there for the next three years with Adam Cooper, her husband, their 10-month-old son Dino, and their two dogs — a goldendoodle named Dipsy and a Pomeranian named Puffy.
Now Bikoff is pregnant again. The family has spent the summer in their shelter magazine-friendly Hamptons home and have bought a four-bedroom co-op at East 79th Street and Madison.
In June, Bikoff announced on social media that the townhouse was up for rent: “Renting out my charming West Village, NYC townhouse available immediately!” she posted on Instagram. “Whoever is interested you are more than welcome to do whatever you want with the space. I am not attached to anything. All work permitted. I’m open to a set rentals, long term or short term rentals, you name it. I’m flex! DM me for more info!”
Design details include loads of color, including lacquered cabinets in the chef’s kitchen. The home opens to a living and a dining area, while the kitchen leads to a large terrace for dining and entertaining al fresco, with views of neighboring townhouses and a magnolia tree.
Inside, floating stairs lead to two upper-level bedrooms. One is currently used as a dressing room and the other is a nursery. The top floor is home to the main bedroom suite, with high ceilings, an additional dressing room, a spa bathroom and a private terrace with rooftop views.
Outside, a separate entrance leads to a ground floor with an additional family room, laundry and windows overlooking Commerce Street.
