‘Heavy hearts’: Lehigh Valley furniture store closing permanently, offering ‘massive discounts’ | Eat, Sip, Shop

WHITEHALL TWP., Pa. – Individuals looking to spruce up their homes with new furniture in 2025 can score deals at a store closing sale in Lehigh County.

A Decor Home Furniture store, offering furniture for bedrooms, living rooms, dining rooms and offices, is set to close in late February at 2180 MacArthur Road in Whitehall Township, manager Vinny Vijan said.

A store closing sale, with items discounted up to 80% off their original prices, is underway, Vijan said.

The store opened about five years ago in the Whitehall Square shopping center.

“We got outbid by another business and are looking to relocate the store to another spot in Whitehall or possibly in Bethlehem,” Vijan said. “We haven’t yet found another space, but we are looking.”

Decor Home carries a wide assortment of furniture, including sofas, loveseats, sectionals, end tables, dining room sets, bedroom sets, entertainment centers and desks, along with mattresses and decor such as area rugs, lamps and pillows.

Decor Home also has another Lehigh Valley location at the Palmer Park Mall in Palmer Township, along with two New York stores in Rockland and Westchester counties.

These three stores will continue operations as normal, Vijan said.

“We have some bad news and some good news,” a message on the business’ Facebook page reads.

“The bad news is we lost our lease in Whitehall and have to close that location forever. The good news is we have over 60,000 sq ft of furniture that must go so that means YOU can get an amazing deal right now!!! We have a limited amount of time left so run don’t walk to our Whitehall location only!”

The Whitehall store is open 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sundays.

The store closing sale will continue through the end of February, and all sales are final, Vijan said.

“We have been a part of the Allentown/Whitehall community for the last several years so it is with heavy hearts that we share with you that our lease is up and we have to close our doors very soon,” an announcement on the business’ page reads.

“This applies only to our Whitehall location. Our Easton location will continue to be up and running and once we close our Whitehall store we will love to continue to serve you there. We have massive discounts going on now in our Whitehall location and we welcome you to come refresh your home in 2025 while saving hundreds if not thousands of dollars!”

It’s unclear what business will be taking over the space that Decor Home Furniture is vacating at Whitehall Square.

“At this time, we are unable to share tenant names, but look forward to letting you know once lease agreements have been officially finalized,” said Maria Pace, a spokesperson for Brixmor Property Group, which owns and operates Whitehall Square.
