A colorful and historic Greenwich Village townhouse has sold for $20.8 million.

The property also comes with some design star appeal. Located at 114 Waverly Place, the spread was renovated by the dynamic developer and design duo, Bob and Cortney Novogratz.

At 6,800 square feet, the five-bedroom home was truly a labor of love, as Gimme Shelter chronicled last fall.

“A lot of years and experience went into building this perfect house,” Bob told Gimme Shelter at the time. The home’s former owner was the late actress and local legend Celeste Martin.

The Novogratzes bought the dwelling for $8.5 million in 2019. They gut-renovated it — during the pandemic, an experience all its own — and moved in with their family, before listing it for $29.9 million in 2023.

The buyer’s LLC is tied to Michael Goodwin, the founder and managing partner of a privately held securities trading firm in New York. He is also the founder of Bluefin, and did not return requests for comment.

The six-story home was once known throughout the Village for its famed bubble-gum-pink-stucco exterior, which the couple wanted to restore.

That is, until the city’s Landmarks Preservation Commission said no.

So that’s when they came up with an acceptable shade of yellow gold.

Built in 1826, the 22-foot-wide home features a great room with 22-foot-high ceilings.

There’s also a charming, multi-leveled, 1,700-square-foot outdoor space with trees trucked in from the Berkshires, where the Novogratzes also own a residence.

An open chef’s kitchen anchors the interior, which also includes a large primary bedroom with a fireplace and a dressing room.

While design details include custom millwork, Venetian plaster and reclaimed wood floors, there’s also a high-speed elevator that brings the home straight into the modern age.

The listing brokers were Christopher Riccio and Elana Zinoman of Douglas Elliman.
