Arrivl App to Help Buyers Design Dream Homes
Veteran developer Robert Artura is pushing a new way to buy custom-made luxury houses: an app.
The seasoned homebuilder, who has spent more than 30 years developing houses, is launching a consumer-based app targeting the luxury residential market called Arrivl. The app allows prospective buyers to find, personalize and build their dream home through a digital platform that Artura is billing as the “Tesla of homes.”
“This app allows consumers to virtually design and build their custom homes, offering a level of personalization and control that was previously unattainable in the industry,” Artura told the Business Journal.
Artura and orthopedic spine surgeon Kasra Rowshan launched Arrivl earlier this year and planted its flag with office space in Newport Beach. The Palo Alto-based law firm Wilson Sonsini, which worked on the Google IPO, represents Arrivl’s attempts to grow its platforms.
Artura and Rowshan estimate Arrivl would build 20 homes per year, with revenues to reach $108.2 million. The duo set up Arrivl as a holding company overseeing several divisions: Arrivl Development, Arrivl Flip, Arrivl Real Estate, Arrivl Furnishings and Arrivl Capital.
The newest division is Arrivl Build.
He said Arrivl is more than a real estate company – it’s “a disruptor that brings innovation to the traditional homebuilding process, offering a fully tech-enabled, virtual homebuilding experience that eliminates many of the pain points consumers face today.”
Arrivl also has a portfolio of 15 properties, with a focus on single-family properties.
One-Stop-Shop for Custom Home Buying
The company says the app, which is expected to officially launch in January after beta testing, is effectively a one-stop-shop for consumers seeking to have a luxury or custom house built and designed.
Artura and Rowshan said Arrivl allows buyers to select and design their homes and show them how their selected designs look like through 3D walkthrough technology.
Acquiring the land, construction and the closing process are all handled in-house by Arrivl.
“Buyers … [can] design and customize every element of their home in real-time, without needing separate meetings with architects, designers and contractors,” Artura said. “Buyers can see immediate changes to their designs, make decisions more easily and feel more in control of the process, compared to the traditional method that involves multiple in-person meetings and longer timelines.”
The app is designed for luxury custom homes, per Artura and Rowshan, but it could be scaled to serve a broader market of upper middle-income buyers in the future.
“This will change homebuying by giving more consumers the opportunity to participate in the design and customization process without the traditional barriers of cost and complexity,” Artura said.
Timeline for Buying Via the App – 30 Days to 24 Months
Arrivl, for now, primarily focuses on building new homes, but the company has also dabbled with redevelopment projects.
“Depending on the customer’s needs, the company can either construct a new home from the ground up or redevelop an existing property to match the buyer’s specifications,” Artura said.
The timeline to buy a home through Arrivl could take as little as 30 days, if a house is near completion, or as long as 24 months if it’s being built from scratch.
Both Artura and Rowshan see Arrivl as touching all aspects of the homebuying process.
“The company’s future will encompass all areas of real estate, including Arrivl Capital for financing, Arrivl Furnishings for interior design and strategic partnerships with vendors to enhance the customization process. Arrivl aims to redefine how homes are built, sold and financed, revolutionizing the entire real estate industry,” Rowshan said.
