Pine Cones Inside the Fireplace

If you’re not planning on burning any real logs in your fireplace, you might as well repurpose it as a hub for some LED candles, pine cones, and fairy lights, as Anthropologie did in this cheery vignette. Doing so will provide ambient (read: vibey) illumination for the objects you choose to place on the mantel. In this case, it’s mini Christmas trees and a wooden diorama spelling the word wish. This scene has us wishing for Santa’s early arrival!

Faux, Faux, Faux (Snow)

Your outdoor view’s looking a little too snowless for comfort? Invest in some faux snow! The one from Terrain breaks down when added to water, so you can easily say goodbye to it come January 1. Here, the frosty finish is scattered below a handsome floor mirror, but its possibilities are endless (Staircase? Kitchen counters? At the foot of your bed?).

Garlands on the Headboard

PSA: Garlands aren’t only meant for fireplace mantels and doorframes. They’re also an ingenious addition to any bed’s headboard, as pictured. The Terrain Faux Cedar Garland is a blank slate that you can elevate via ornaments (Anthropologie has soo many cutesy options), lights, and beyond.

Bow Down to Bows

Bows are common characters in the Christmas interior design space, but have you ever seen them adorn the corner of a fireplace surround? Anthropologie’s satin bows come in three colors and are actually meant for topping your tree. However, as this visual makes perfectly clear, a little creativity goes a long way. Throw away the rulebook this Christmas!

Feminine and Chic Color Palettes

It’s the 21st century, so, if no one has told you yet, holiday decor does not have to be synonymous with all things red, green, and blingy. Take a page from the way Anthropologie and Terrain filled this room—especially that dark purple Martinique Swivel Chair and green Tassel-Fringed Velvet Floor Lamp. The colors are feminine and expressive and the organic shapes of each item create a refreshingly nontraditional display.

Whimsical Food-Inspired Ornaments

We love living in the era of ornaments that go beyond matte baubles and Christmas tree silhouettes. Truly, could our ancestors ever predict us having access to ornaments that are eerily accurate representations of dirty martinis, charcuterie boards, sardine tins, or (yes) baked potatoes? Anthro has no shortage of such food-inspired decorations—like these charming pomegranate ones—which can be used outside of the tree as, say, chic faux garnish.

All the Love for LED

Using LED-powered products in your Christmas interiors isn’t anything sensational or groundbreaking. However, it’s all too easy to pigeonhole yourself into only taking advantage of the lights that are embedded in your large, faux Christmas tree. Embrace the tiny lights, too—like the ones that stud this duo of Crystal Leaves Light-Up Gold Trees. Trust us, this will result in instant, homey magic.

Shift Focus to the Bar Cart

If you’re big on hosting holiday bashes, don’t overlook the bar cart as a place to show all your personality and design mastery. This Hanukkah-themed one steals the show from the room at large, what with its elegant Gilded Branch Menorah, ombré candles, and delicate drinkware. Bar carts are small by nature, but who said tiny spaces can’t be taken to the highest of heights?

Lush Tablescapes FTW

Keep things fresh when it comes to your holiday dinner table setup with elements like moss and Terrain’s Red Berry Garland. Paired with green-colored Glenna Earthenware, they’ll produce the illusion of your home being one populated by fairies—or else garden gnomes with incredibly refined tastes.

A Tree in Every Room

The one thing that’s a guarantee at this year’s Anthropologie and Terrain Holiday House is an encounter with some kind of Christmas tree (in most cases, multiple!) in every room, and this moody, sensuous space is no exception. Go all out and treat the most high-traffic areas of your home to their own Tannenbaums. With the Potted Norway Spruce, clocking in at four feet, you can make your kitchen, bathroom, and even backyard that much more enchanting. Happy decorating!
