Wesley Brings Real Estate Development and Retail Brokerage to Her Role as Director
redC Real Estate Design & Construction, a Denver-based consulting firm that provides entrepreneurs with customizable levels of development support, has named Makenna Wesley director of real estate. Wesley has more than 10 years of experience in commercial real estate, specializing in site selection, market strategy and lease negotiations.
“I’m excited to continue working with growing brands and leveraging my experience as a retail broker to support franchisees through the site selection process,” Wesley said. “Helping entrepreneurs find the right locations to set them up for long-term success is incredibly rewarding, and I’m looking forward to making an impact in that space.”
Wesley collaborated with redC COO JD Prager while working at Western Retail Advisors as a broker. “After taking a hiatus from commercial real estate to pursue my passion for group fitness full-time at Lagree Fitness, I was ready to return to the industry and reconnected with JD,” Wesley said. “The timing was perfect, and the opportunity felt like a natural fit. I had also worked with some of the redC team members in the past and knew they were highly respected in the industry. Everyone is incredibly collaborative and supportive, which makes all the difference in this business.”

A Natural Career Path
Both of Welsey’s parents worked in commercial real estate, sparking her interest in the field from a young age, she said. “I would visit sites with them and hear deal discussions around the dinner table, so it felt like a natural career path.”
With a background in both retail development and brokerage, Wesley said she has a well-rounded perspective that directly applies to her role at redC. “Having worked on a variety of deals, I’ve learned to think creatively and strategically to find the best opportunities that align with my clients’ goals. Understanding the nuances of different markets and transaction structures allows me to provide franchisees with the guidance they need to make informed decisions.”
Wesley takes a collaborative approach in her work. “A great real estate strategy is built on trust, transparency and a deep understanding of a brand’s long-term vision. My experience as a broker taught me the importance of relationships and the nuances that can make or break a deal.”
Wesley continues to enjoy teaching Lagree Fitness classes to stay connected with the fitness community,” she said. “My passion for coaching is one of the reasons I was drawn to franchising. Both industries center around empowering people – whether it’s helping clients reach their fitness goals or supporting entrepreneurs as they achieve their dream of business ownership.”
