In 2002, Spears put down roots in Manhattan with the $3 million purchase of a NoHo penthouse apartment. Cher and Richard Simmons were former inhabitants of the dwelling, which spanned four levels in the historic Silk Building, where the original Tower Records store was once located. The unit had four bedrooms, four-and-a-half bathrooms, and a 400-square-foot terrace.
According to The Wall Street Journal, Spears also owned a separate two-bedroom condo in the building. She sold the four-bedroom penthouse for $4 million in 2006, and the smaller unit changed hands in 2011 for $1.48 million.
Malibu estate
Freshly wed to Kevin Federline, Spears bought a $6.9 million Malibu mansion in the fall of 2004. The traditional-style 1980s estate clocked in at 9,130 square feet with eight bedrooms and eight bathrooms. A tennis court, a pool, a spa, a gym, and an outdoor kitchen rounded out the 1.5-acre plot, which Spears sold for $10 million in 2007 after filing for divorce.
Beverly Hills mansion
Amidst her 2006 split from K-Fed, Spears moved to a roughly 7,800-square-foot mansion in Beverly Hills. The six-bedroom and seven-bathroom Mediterranean-style villa cost the singer $6.75 million. It featured a formal dining room warmed by a marble fireplace, a primary suite with dual bathrooms and a loggia, a home theater, and a saltwater swimming pool in the backyard. Spears resided at this dwelling when she was involuntarily placed under a conservatorship, which was in place from 2008 until 2021. She listed the house for about $5.5 million in 2010, but it wasn’t until two years later that the property finally sold for $4.25 million.
Spanish-style Thousand Oaks home
In 2012, the Princess of Pop purchased a five-bedroom, seven-bathroom Spanish-style home in Thousand Oaks, California. The single-story abode was built in 2010 and boasted five fireplaces, a private theater, vaulted ceilings, three bedroom wings, and mountain views. A sprawling terrace graced the landscaped grounds, which also hosted a fireplace, a bar, and a swimming pool with waterfalls and fountains.
Spears sold the pad for $7 million in 2017.
Current Thousand Oaks estate
Spears picked up another property in Thousand Oaks in 2015 for $7.4 million. The 2000-built neoclassical Italianate villa spans roughly 13,300 square feet, with five bedrooms and seven-and-a-half bathrooms. With 21 acres, the estate has plenty of room for outdoorsy amenities, and it takes full advantage; an orchard, a tennis court, a three-green golf course, an infinity pool, and a 1,200-square-foot pavilion with a full kitchen, a bathroom, and a spacious wine cellar are all found on the premises. Spears still owns this property.
Calabasas mansion
In 2022, shortly after marrying fitness trainer Sam Asghari, Spears bought a neoclassical-style Calabasas mansion on a 1.6-acre plot for $11.8 million. Between the 11,650-square-foot main house and a guest cottage, the estate hosted seven bedrooms and nine bathrooms. Amenities included a grand foyer with 33-foot ceilings, a home theater equipped with Dolby Surround Sound, a wine cellar, and a 55-foot backyard pool with waterfalls.
